Went for an inspection and the guy said my ebrake was too loose and failed me. I found the adjuster on the driverside but knowhere have i been able to find specs on what is too loose and what is right?

I'm an old shade tree mechanic, so not the "factory way" but I would start by "shortening" the cable length with the adjusting screw to where it would hold the truck from moving when I put it in drive & allow moving forward when brake is released. Not to scientistic but should hold the truck from moving forward when set to lock brake.

I'm sure there's some good gearheads that know the professional setting on here...that will chime in.
