Hello all, so I’ve searched everywhere for something about this. My friends own a paint booth and offered me one heck of a deal to cut my bumper (for dual exhaust), and sand/repaint the whole thing. Gloss black, paint code WA8555. Just like factory. They’ll do it for less than the cost of a primed bumper with the cutouts. I will NOT be using factory exhaust tips. I’m looking at a set of dual tips (2.5”inlet/dual 3.5”outlet) that are black powder coated stainless. I’ll be having a custom exhaust system put in around January/February.

On the flipside, I could cut the ports out myself. The frame underneath has the notches for the factory dual exhaust tips. If I had some measurements for the front side, I could lay the bumper on sawhorses and get it just right. I’m sure that, with a little time and effort, I could do it. The alternative is, to mark it from the backside, and cut it from underneath…which also could be done after removing the frame from the backside.

After cutting, I’d take it to the paint guys and have them clean it up and repaint it.

What do y’all think?

Why wouldn't you just find a take off bumper with the cutouts if you're going to use the factory size openings in the first place? Find a late model salvage yard near you and see what they have.

If I could find a late model yard around here, I would. Everything I’ve got within 50 miles is 2013 or older. The yards I have found that stock newer vehicles charges outrageous prices. I could get one painted and sent to me for $600, and this job costs a little more than half that.

You can get chrome or painted ones all day long on Facebook Marketplace for $400 or less.  Not to mention, a cut rear bumper would look janky, regardless of how well its done.

Within 500 miles of me, they’re $700+. If not that price, they’re in really bad shape. I’m gonna cut mine, and use 2 black dual tips.
