Badd Rear Drums??

Recommended Posts

Posted

I have a 95 K2500 sbbn and it still has, I bet, the stock rear drums.

I have had shaking/vibrating brakes for some considerable time and plan to do something about it: a couple of years ago I had new front discs put on, and I am thus pretty certain its the back drums causing the problem.

Can anyone recommend better/stronger rear drums? And what are the best shoes? I need to replace the front pads, so can do all this at the same time.

Anything else I should do??

TIA

If you are sure it is the rear drums, and they are original, why not just get them turned. Take the drums to a local brake shop and get them to true them for you. Does the pulsation come through the whole truck or just the steering wheel? If it's the wheel, then it's probably the rotors, the seat, then its drums. Quit riding the brakes...LOL
