2014 silverado 1500 Remote start clicks but does not work

I have a 2014 silverado 1500 LT and it has factory remote start. I have tried to use it and if someone is sitting in the truck they can hear a click when I press and hold the button, but it does not start the truck. Has anyone had this issue that could give me some advice on how to fix it?

Are you locking it first? Also, if the "open hood" latch detection is faulty, it won't work, IIRC.
