I've searched this forum so I apologize if I missed a response to this particular issue.  I just cranked up the truck today, my 2018 Sierra Z71 crew cab with the 5.3V8, purchased new in Feb 2019 from a dealership in North Houston, and the vehicle now has 13,627 miles.  I don't drive it much and use a more economical vehicle for commuting, I bought the truck because I wanted it to be the last one I bought before retiring in 4-5 years and didn't want the push button start vehicles. I hope to keep this vehicle for a long time.

So when I started up the truck, the 4WD Service message popped up.  used my Auto Cal device to check for DTCs, and nothing shows up.  I did change the drive from 2WD, to auto, then from auto to 4 HI, then from 4 HI to 4 Lo and all seemed to work fine and I can hear the gears changing in the transfer case.  It shouldn't be the terminals on the frame as this truck doesn't see the mud you would expect from a vehicle like this, but maybe something has come loose after only 13K miles but I haven't check it yet.

Any thoughts on what could be the issue before I take it to a dealer for inspection?  Also, I read where the transfer case is under powertrain warranty so I was curious if any other GM truck owners had this problem outside of the 3/36,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty but before 5/60,000 mile powertrain warranty had expired and how the dealership treated this issue for them.
