FOB Issues

But still, I am trying to get it across to GM, an $80K vehicle that when accidentally unlocked, will never lock itself back is beyond ridiculous. How is the truck supposed to know if the fob command to unlock is intentional or accidental?

It doesn't. That's why every vehicle out there BESIDES this truck has a "re-lock" feature. If you unlock the doors and don't -open- one within a certain amount of time, the doors then all automatically LOCK. While that isn't a way to "know" that the unlock was accidental, it's at least a way to make a reasonable guess that it was accidental.

If frequently unlock mine with the fob and want it to stay unlocked...

May or may not go to it and open a door in the next few minutes....

 

I'd be pissed if it 'relocked' when I didn't want it to.

 

 

SO has her GM vehicle (not a pickup) set to autolock and to 'honk' to confirm. 

I keep mine set require active locking.  I use fob or by button on handle, depending on situation.

I would be totally ok with an option to disable relock for folks like you that don't want it. I personally feel the complete lack of it is a bad design by GM, especially in a vehicle that ALSO has a poorly designed FOB that is easy to have the various buttons get pressed simply by being in your pocket.

I dislike the new fob design. It's hard to find out what to press without looking at it, in the 20' it's alot easier cause you can feel out where the buttons actually are. Plus the new fob the buttons aren't as satisifying to click. Lol

I just don't get why these things have to be so big.  My other fobs are at least 1/3 smaller and do the same thing with the same range.

They do not correct the issue. After having this on the FOB for 36 hours, I have come out to an unlocked truck twice.

 

And OMG do they look awful from being in your pocket!

Yeah, I shouldn’t have made that FOB cover sound like THE answer. It is not. The answer is a smaller indented FOB and software that has auto lock back after a time of my choosing.

Sorry if it seemed like I was implying you over-stated. I only went back and grabbed your post because it had the details and was what I had on order to try. 

 

I agree that the FOB is a bad design in many ways and also can't figure out why GM took away the re-lock option.
