Matthew Darr Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 Have 1,000 miles on my 2024 Sierra. Super disappointed in the backup lights. Changed design from bulbs to leds and they are really weak and don’t illuminate to the sides at all. If backing up at night there are major blind spots and the camera is useless unless you are backing up straight. anyone aware of aftermarket light upgrades or additional lighting kids to add more light when backing?
oldmann Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 I just added these. the lamps on my 2024 were pathetic and dangerous. These are very bright and make a huge difference. https://www.ebay.com/itm/274071982857?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=meweZlVxTHm&sssrc=2047675&ssuid=uSXU3pL9S5-&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

Is yours a 2024 Sierra 1500? My 2019 pickup used these replaceable bulbs but my 2024 has completely sealed lights with internal LEDs. Seems like I can’t just upgrade the bulbs.
Jhanson Posted April 4, 2024 Posted April 4, 2024 Hi Matt. Did you ever find a solution to this? I just bought a 24 Sierra slt and the back up lighting is pathetic. Seems like the lasfit as recommended in this post would not work on the 24.

GRSs Posted September 6, 2024 Posted September 6, 2024 Anyone have an answer on the sealed beam issue? I bought LED that are supposed to work. Not sure I want to mess with the sealed unit.
willow d Posted November 21, 2024 Posted November 21, 2024 I too purchased a 2024 GMC Ultimate and i can say for the money spent it was short on options and features that I expected and wanted in my new truck purchase . The reverse lights are next to worthless and very much need to be fixed by GM , not sure why they would think of making the taillight assembly into a single fixture with no options to replace individual bulbs/leds ? I imagine that a 20 dollar cost reduction was found ? Other thing that bothers me is the lack to power fold mirrors automatically when locked the truck , really should be a software inclusion . Other suggestions. 1. air ride and load leveling suspension , with ability to raise and lower as needed . 2. having a stalk mounted lighting controls instead of dash mounted . 3. locate 4wd drive controls down to the shifter location where it makes sense. 4. when buying this i was very disappointed not to be able to purchase the volcanic red in this Ultimate version [ why?] 5. gm should consider a full moonroof for this truck as having this little roof port is not befitting 6. door mounted seat controls so you can see what you are doing , as passengers constantly turn on seat massage or lumber .

Rear lights are fine with my 2023. I can see everything with my rearview camera mirror. Air suspension would be a nice option. I had it on my Ram Limited. I got rid of it before the bags started to leak. I don't want anything else on a stalk. I rarely touch the drive control. Fine where it's at. The big pano roofs are prone to rattle. I had them on the F150 Platinum. I haven't had issues with the seat controls. Edit... Forgot about you saying the mirrors don't fold. They do. Look in your settings. That's how I check if I remembered to lock as I walk away. Edited November 22, 2024 by Jus Cruisin Added content 1
Port Tack Farm Posted November 22, 2024 Posted November 22, 2024 Anyone have any updated solutions to back up camera issues at night or the back up lights on the 24 MY Sierra and Silverado? I am flying blind backing my truck up at night. The camera at night is pathetic and the back up lights are way to dim. It's a serious safety issue. I had my front windows tinted which makes it even more difficult to back up at night. If I put my front windows down, I can use the mirrors, but the back up light is still barely useful. With the windows tinted and up, there just isn't enough light back there to see anything in the mirrors. I purchased my 24 SLT in July and really didn't drive it late at night much so the reverse lights and camera issues weren't noticed because it typically wasn't fully dark yet, but now that it's November and getting dark a 5:30 or earlier it's an much more noticed issue. Any help or advice would be appreciated.
silveradosid Posted November 23, 2024 Posted November 23, 2024 you have a lot of secondary lighting in that pic, try it some where with no extra lighting and when its raining out, then you will see how bad it is

It's plenty clear. That isn't nearly as bright outside. The camera aperture makes it look much lighter than actual. It would be hard to see someone walking in the street by just looking out of the garage.
Port Tack Farm Posted November 25, 2024 Posted November 25, 2024 I'll try to get a picture of mine tonight. From what I've read this seems to be an issue with 2024 MY vehicles and possibly 2025. It appears @Jus Cruisin with the good photo has a 2023. I don't know what, if any change there was between 2023 and 2024.
