Here's what I was referring to in a earlier post.  The photos somehow look better than the screen does when backing, possibly due to other lights in the field of vision like the headlights and the dash lights.

With those pics and all the cross-traffic and back-up sensors, I don't see any problem. Compared to what we used to deal with (1156 bulbs and zero sensors), it's eezy-peezy backing up now.

I have a 2023 Sierra SLT that I just found out has the sealed tail lights. Surprised they would change the design but not fix the issue considering it is definitely something GM knows about. They WILL NOT do anything about it unless they get inundated with complaints (or somebody run somebody over backing up). I called customer service and opened a case. I recommend that everybody who has this issue do the same. Even folks that can change theirs easily enough, it's still not something you should have to do on a newer vehicle. My '81 380SL has brighter reverse lights than this truck does. When you call to complain, remind them that their liability cost is going to be a hell of a lot worse when somebody backs up over a kid. It is a safety issue.

I use the side mirrors until I close to something although I find switching to the hitch guidance line (instead of the 'ladder diagram')  in the backup picture will improve the night-time view of what is behind the truck.

Off topic, but I also have a 560SL R107. Can't imagine there's a lot of overlap between R107 owners and Sierras, hah. My dog can't decide if she likes riding in the truck or the 560 better.

For the backup lights, people on reddit have been adding  things like this to the license plate frame to increase the brightness. I have not yet because I don't like aftermarket additional lighting.
