I bought a Putco 60” blade with quick connect harness. I keep having weird blind split indicator issues and Chevy says it’s the bar and it’s causing all these alerts.

Putco says it’s impossible.

Going to pick up the truck and pull the harness.

Has anyone had this issue before? Here are the install instructions for my bar: https://www.putco.com/product/blade-tailgate-light-bar-plug-n-play/9202060-05/

I have the exact same Putco Blade and harness on my 2023 1500 High Country.......works like a champ, zero issues.

Love this thing, so bright and looks awesome.

It's easy to disconnect the harness going to the Blade to see if something is causing it.....

Yep. I had one on my 2015 and it never caused me issues. Now I got all these problems and they’re sending me on my way. Telling me it’s the light bar…..

My guess is they didn’t sell me the truck so they have no vested interest in helping.

There's another Putco blade thread on here somewhere in the past month or two. There was issues with where it was being powered

It's a GM Accessory.  It should have a 12 month/12,000 mile warranty through the dealership.

Thanks! I just found it on their website -- and it looks like it comes with the harness too.

I pulled the harness last night so will see if the issues go away.

If they do I'll contact Putco; maybe I got a bad harness that is back feeding power or something.

GM is hyper sensitive to modifications because of warranty costs. There are a lot of instances where trucks have been modded and the tech chased an issue that wasnt GM's fault. The new electrical architecture is very fussy.

If those issues go away after unplugging the bar, its the bar causing it.

Did you get the bar from Putco or the one Putco sells from GM?  The one they sell through GM plugs into the tail light harnesses via an adapter harness, not the trailer plug like the Putco one does.

I got mine from Putco directly and it had a harness. I had to get under the truck and unplug 3 different plugs; and then plug in putco's harness, then the GM plugs back into it. And at the end was a 4 pin plug and reverse plug -- along with a black box.

Gotcha so its likely the trailer style ones.  The harness had 2 round plugs and then the 4 flat?  Also, black box?  Did you buy the Freedom bar or the standard bar?  The Freedom bar, someone on the forums here has had nothing but problems with on a 2023 I think it was?

I bought this one: https://www.putco.com/product/blade-tailgate-light-bar-plug-n-play/9202060-05/

I attached the PDF install for it.

I don't think so. I think the trailer functions are based on detecting something plugged into the trailer plugs -- tapping the feeds for the lights themselves I would think is OK. Maybe. Just what logic is telling me but I could be so wrong.

    • Can ask that about a lot of places.   Holiday sells 91 for $1 over 87 octane. BP 93 is 80 cents. Amoco 93 is 80 cents Kwik Trips is $1.20 for 92 or whatever they have and $1 for the 91.   I know that this is not exactly same as what you are saying with the premium to premium debate of those two stations but why is there such a difference. Top Tier this and that, it's all BS. All the fuel comes from the same damn refinery, so give me a break.
    • Why does Mobil Premium cost 90 cents a gallon more than Shell Premium when their regular offerings are but pennies apart?
    • Was all the way down to $3.69 a gallon but then jumped back to $3.99 just because for some reason.   Diesel floats between $4.80's to $5.10ish a gallon. I even saw Diesel #1 for $6.09 today but nobody in there right mind even buys that in the summer.
    • Mine just keeps lagging or getting stuck on the reverse camera. When I turn off the truck, get out, and close the door it will still stay on. It’s very intermittent and I would not be able to duplicate the issue.
    • I was checking out fuel prices at my farm fuel retailer at their pumps and yes the farm price is a bit lower than the non dyed fuel and was glad to see that the regular farm gas price has dropped a lot from what it had been but what blew me away was the price of diesel as the spread now compared to before the prices went up earlier in the year, diesel was actually slightly lower than gas which was a switch from the theme the last number of years. However that sure isn't the theme lately and definitely not right now. The prices I will post are not from that retailer but just looking at gasbuddy for the main city in this area and instead of posting the lowest price someone found I will list the higher price ( and that may not be the highest price, just whatever someone posted on gasbuddy ).   So regular gas and there are a lot of stations listing the same price for regular is 1.68 a liter, premium 2.00 a liter. Diesel 2.03 a liter for a top price I saw on diesel.   Figures out to 6.36 a us gallon Canadian funds for regular and 7.68 for diesel. With the US exchange rate it would be 4.58 us for regular and 5.53 for diesel.    Thought I would figure that out to get a picture of what it settles out like compared to various US prices and its about the same as the current price in Fairbanks AK as Anchorage tends to be lower. So yes, these would be the prices and higher along the way on the Alaska highway where they know they have a captured market !, for fuel prices for those beginning the long drive back to the lower 48   The problem is our Canadian dollar and going to the states that have the high prices, boy do we pay then !
