Any suggestions for installing a XM Roady into an OBS truck? ...I'm not sure where to install it in the truck....also anyone know if you can get a connector to hook it up to the stock stereo in the back? ..or a connector for a Kenwood aftermarket? (I have a Kenwood but it isn't installed)..

Dunno what OBS is but I have a Roady in my Sub and use the cassette adapter. Here are some pics:

The Roady uses all the mounting hardware that it came with. I stuck the mount to the area were your airbag switch or onstar is. All the wiring is hidden, even the wire to the cassette adapter (look real closely). The adapter is in all the time and I use the aux button to select the Roady.

I wired the power adapter into the fusebox using the radio fuse so that the Roady stays on with the radio when you pull the keys but keep the doors closed. WARNING - do not junk the cigar lighter adapter thing thinking you can simply plug the wires into the fusebox, it converts the voltage to 6V - I soldered wires to the contacts and wrapped it up in tape.

The antenna wire is long enough to go from the center of my dash out to the door trim, up the molding back through the ceiling and out through the brake light.

I love XM! I'm not a big Bon Jovi fan - it just happened to be on when i took the pics.

If you do not have a cassette adapter you will need a special harness to tie it into your GM Delco radio. Go to www.xmfan.com and snoop around. I think it is about $50.

Hope that helps. Fire away if you have more questions.

You can also get a direct connect from www.jpcustoms.com that gives rca inputs to the factory head unit. Then you use a y splitter to hook the roady to the hu. I've heard it in a pickup and a camaro and it sounds much better than any other alternate way of hooking them in.

That looks pretty clean. I am getting a Roady for my birthday next month from my wife. I have been looking at the RCA converters and mounting adapters. I would love to mount it in the blank space over in the overhead console but I also want to be able to remove it to use inside. I can't find naything that would allow we to mount it there and easily remove it. Any suggestion?
