Just replaced my 2018 Silverado with buckets and center console with a 2024 with buckets and center console and hate the new cup holder setup as it's next to the passenger seat, versus next to the driver's seat. There's an area behind the console mounted shifter (next  to the driver's seat) that has enough room to install a cup holder. I'm wondering if anyone's modified the center console to incorporate another cup holder in that location. I'll post an exact location pic tomorrow, just wanted to plant the seed.

This is the one thing missing in my truck. Need a cup holder on the drivers side.  Awkward to reach for a drink right next to passanger's leg. Please keep us updated

I have not seen any mod for this. This is only the second year of production for that console. Many many GM truck owners would kill for a console like that. The older style consoles that preceded this one are selling for over $1000.00 used.

Where that gear shifter is would be a great spot for a cupholder. Maybe they could put that somewhere less in the way.

Like back on the column where it was! 😄

Meanwhile the only configuration GM truck I'd buy right now is a HD Silverado based strictly off the center console not having the gear shifter on it and where the trailer brake controller is.

I'm with you on this one! However there were so many guys complaining that GM trucks didn't have a console shifter like Ford did so I guess GM bowed to them.

I don't know if there is enough depth under that spot for a cup holder. It the Denali trim that is where the trailer brake controller is.

I have zero trouble reaching my Yeti or Thermos mug. It's a non-issue for me and I've owned a Ram Limited that had side by side cupholders (rotary gear selector on the dash). Took me about a week to completely get used to the rotary selector and after that I didn't give it any thought.
