Storage became available with the 2019 T1 trucks. Prior to that, LT trim would at least get matching door trim and a drop down armrest, lights in the vanity mirrors...etc.

GM put a full WT trim (minus vinyl) in the rear of T1 LT trucks with anything under than Convenience Package II. Rocker sills, door panels (no stitching, no "wood" inserts), no armrest in the seat...etc. Might not be the case now but was with the early T1s including my 2022 LT Convenience Package I 2500 HD.

Rear seat storage has been an option on WT, Custom, Custom TB, LT, LT TB and RST since at least 2022.5 refresh 1500s.  Not sure on HD.

EDIT: Since at least 2021 on the low low trims.

For some reason not a lot of dealers seem to just order it since its only like $225 option when building a truck.

It was available on my Custom Trail Boss when I ordered it in 2021. You are correct it was a $225 option.

Posting this here as this section probably gets a lot more traffic than my home HD section and the cab interiors are the same. As we know, GM decontented LT trucks around 2019 and started putting WT interiors in the rear of LT. I'm looking to add the cloth seatback with the armrest (which forces the storage doohickeys). Right off the bat, no, I don't want some jank eBay plop down armrest thing. I am very familiar with spending silly money on GM factory upgrades (see signature) and am ok with going through this process. Also no interest in leather because I don't want to change over the front and live in the hot desert where cloth is preferable. Junkyard truck you say? Yeah, good luck. Cloth storage seat trucks in yards are as common as intelligent political leaders. As long as you get all the PNs, you'd be surprised what you can put together from GM on your own (again, see sig).

FWIW, I'm looking to assemble a cloth jet black (H0U) crew cab rear seatback. Probably the most common one for everyone with an LT, Custom, or W/T (or SLE & Pro) If this thread goes anywhere and you have a double cab or different color, beware the differences on some stuff.

Here's a few notes so far. RPO codes:

R70 Folding rear split seat with storage

SNR w/ deluxe storage

Not sure the difference.

PNs so far:

Frame: 84516959

Pad: 84554073

Cover: ?

Driver back panel: 84809176

Pass back panel: 84809177

Driver Panel insulator: 84727213 (don't see pass side, looks full width?)

Driver Mat(??): 84372929

Pass Mat(??): 84372928

Armrest: 85562484

Cupholder Liner (might come with armrest): 84169370

Driver compartment: 84429738

Pass compartment: 84429739

Driver door: 84823989

Pass door: 84824008

Not sure whatever bits and bobs needed. Haven't found the main seat cover yet for H0U. Some of this stuff might come with the other things. For instance, when doing my hood intake the insulators were on the parts explosion but they came on the duct. The air filter was pre installed in the air box....etc.

With all the stuff needed this might be cost prohibitive, but if we can nail down what comes with what the exact parts required, who knows?

By any chance would you happen to know if adding those seat backs (with the storage and cup holders) is possible to do to a double cab? I have a 2020 Silverado 1500. I was planning on keeping the bench part since leg room would be impacted, but I want to add the upper rear seat portion.
