Has anybody gotten really creative and hid their satellite radio antenna somewhere other than putting it on top of the cab? Im thinking about buying one of the new slim antennas and putting it under the wiper cowl on the passenger side. For some reason I just dont like the big antenna on my cab so I wanna move it.

Don't hide it under anything.. it won't work.. It needs to have a clean/clear view of the sky... :D

It doesnt look bad mounted anywhere. My brother has XM in his '01 tahoe. I love the way it all looks. You dont need to block the reception. You could get really creative and install the factory antenna off of a '04. Thats if you wanted to drill.

I have heard of people putting them on thier dashed or even under the cowl cover. You may loose some signal but it all depends on where you are located and if there are repeaters in the area.

Just take you existing antenna and try it in sone different locations and see what kind of reception that you get.

I put my XM antenna on the roof temporarily on my 95 Tahoe but hope to move it when warmer weather gets here, I might go just in front of the 3rd brake light or try under the wiper cowl cover.

I had somebody on a satellite radio baord tell me that XM antennas will work with Sirius receivers. Just for s**ts and grins, I called a friend with XM over. I unhooked his antenna and tried my extra Sirius antenna on his XM and it worked! There is a company called BltizSafe that makes an unbelievably small antenna for XM. I may give it a shot for the heck of it. Its only $24 bucks. I dont know why I let the antenna I have now bug me.

The antenna we have looks like a super small computer mouse. It doesn't look bad on the Venture. We were driving around on the bottom level of the parking deck at the one mall in Raleigh and could still get XM with no problems. So putting it under the cowl should work.

Our antenna is magnetic and is super strong. How about trying it on the back of the cab just below the rear window? Just a thought. I'm looking at getting an extra one for my truck since I had to hard wire my wifes through the firewall. Not an easy thing to take in and out of her van. Or how about in the center down on the front of the hood as an ornament? Back and middle of the tailgate???? Just throwing out ideas. :D

Thats what I want is something relatively small. Maybe I could set something up so I can put that little antenna in a stake pocket of the bad. So its almost flush with the top of the rail. I dont know, guess I will figure somehting out.

You could also wait for the Terk Nano to come out it is about the width of a quarter.

Also they can be painted to help blend in. Or maybe mount a plate in the corner of the bed and mount it just below the rail, that would be ideal with a tonneau cover.

Are there some pictures of that antenna somewhere?? I did find a vehicle kit that is intended for the Brix Streamer. It comes with a fairly small Sirius antenna. I think I woud be better off trying a Sirius antenna instead of an XM antenna.
