Does anyone know how this is calculated? I have a boat/trailer that I've towed 3x with my current truck that has the trailering app on the dash. I set up the trailers for the boat trailer and a utility trailer. Previous trucks didn't have this feature or the drive summary. The drive summary is around 10 to 12 mpg trailering my boat/trailer to the ramp 12 miles away. The trailer average mpg is around 5.6 mpg. I would think that trailer mpg would be close to the drive summary but it's around half. It's not really a big deal as I only travel 24 total miles when I go to the lake. Any insight?

Assuming you have your boat selected as the default trailer, the trailer towing mpg is calculated the same as the trip's mileage.    The mpg of the "current" trip is the top, or first item in the mpg/time summaries ahead of Trip 1 or Trip 2 and that should reflect the trailer towing mileage.  I make sure that the proper trailer profile is displayed before leaving the house as it defaults to the trailer that is marked "default."

I have several trailer profiles in memory and they have nearly the same mpg as observed mpg;

7000lb fiver - 8.24mpg over 3300 miles

5500lb boat - 12.4mpg over 1000 miles

4000lb enclosed snowmobile trailer - 11.5mpg over 650 miles

Thanks. I select the boat trailer when towing the boat. I've noticed the same thing with my utility trailer which I have set up too.
