That sounds like a hybrid mix of goodies most likely vs pure ceramic. After an experience years back with what was just referred to as ceramic pads I am leery of them because I had extremely poor/dangerous braking performance.

I am guessing being down in NC where your at you wouldn't have a constant slushy salt winter road mess, hows the frame and rear diff housing look for rust as an example ?

At almost 5 years and 55k miles, frame and diff are still black and waxy.  I lived in the "north" for my first 35 years.  I'm never moving back.

Yeah ..... then you know what its all about from your past experiences with rust taking the life out of anything that touches a winter road. And your experience now in NC and when I look it up they claim they do use salt in that state and your city but either your not driving on that or its not what they claim it to be. I can only speak for having been in NC years ago starting out at the state line on top of the Smoky mountains on the pass over from Gatlinburg and it was quite snowy and cold up there but as soon as I came back down on the NC side and then made my way over to Chattanooga, it was like a fall day for what I am used to up here. If that is what it tends to be like in NC in general, that would be easy to handle ... however your summers I suspect are hot and humid. But whatever it is, it goes to show that the wax frame works just fine in your climate.

I have a 2022 3500 and i have brake squeals since i drove it off the lot. Dealer says there is nothing wrong with the brake system... Sounds like im driving a 1982 POS everytime i pull up to a stop sign or drive through window

At this point in the brakes life assuming it has the brake life percent indicator, what are the current readings and do you know what the rotor surface condition looks like on both sides of the rotors. What I am getting at is if it would be worth the expense of swapping out the brake pads for either a current GM brake pad compound or a known good aftermarket pad and to make sure the pins are well lubed on the caliper sliders. But here's the other one and I know it may not seem like it should do anything but certainly some more attention to detail shops will use the special high temp brake silicone lube on the back sides of the pads where they contact the pistons and possibly a few other key spots. If your rotors are not in good shape, then only throwing pads at it isn't the ideal brake job. The idea of that silicone is to help stabilize the brake pad from starting to vibrate and squeal.

All I can say is I still haven't heard any squealing out of my brakes so far but I have not accumulated very many miles on it either.

Our 2024 Suburban sounds HORRIBLE.  Our neighbor called bc he was concerned when he heard us in the neighborhood.  I’ve taken it to Chevy but was told it’s the new pads containing additional metal for longevity.  I sound like a school bus in the drive - through
