Today the red" Service system" showed up on the Brake Pad Life monitor. No MIL, or check engine lights showing. Previously (1day ago) monitor said fronts at 40%, backs at 45%.

Brakes seem normal no noise or pulling.

2019 new style Silverado, 36k miles

Got a message from the phone app that says pads are critically low, and to schedule service immediately.

Just had oil change and tire rotation at the dealer on Saturday and the 27(?) Point inspection and tech told me that the pads were, 5mm on front and 7mm on rear.

My own visual inspection confirms this.

Prior to this I had 2 instances of the DIC asking me to reset the brake pad monitor after new pads installed, after parking brake had been applied

Anyone had any experiences like this?

These brake monitoring systems are garbage. My 19 had 3 reporgrams done before I bought it brand new, and 2 more afterwards. At approx 55,000 km the pads were down to the metal backing plates and the "sensors" were still saying 70%f and 80%r life left.
