@HHHso on your driver seat.... Does the seat have the memory module under it?

Posted

@Kyle W Thank you for the timely responses!

i will check on that now, but what happened with me is i installed the seats in the front and they both didn’t work, and i got the service restraints system message, i out my cloth seats back in and it went away. That’s when i came across your post here. My main concern is with the driver seat. I wanted to deter from buying the memory bypass harness just to save some money.

@HHHhappy to help! It's a little difficult to figure it out that's why I wanted to make this post.

Try and disconnect the battery before swapping the seats next time to see if the service restraint light doesn't come on. I never got that message so I am not sure what's going on there.

So on the driver seat, I have swapped a cloth harness into an at4 seat and a Denali seat with the memory module. It's not terrible but you will definitely want the seats out of the vehicle to do it. Take your time and take pictures as you take it apart to help remember how to put it back together. I would start with removing the harness from the leather memory module seat that way if you brake a connector or something you know what not to do on the harness you will be using lol. There are a lot of connectors and stuff. Definitely need an assortment of small flathead screw drivers and needle nose pliers. Be very careful with the zippers on the rear of the seat to open the back cover (it will make sense once you start taking it apart). I broke one and it caused the top seat cover to need repaired/replaced. Feel free to ask questions as they come up and I will try and respond asap

@Kyle W Hey Kyle, i started the process and my main concern is how do i remove the yellow plug that connects to the side airbag? Do i need to remove the entire seat leather

Posted

@HHH that is the hardest one..... I believe my skinny hands came in clutch on that part lol. You shouldn't have to remove the whole cover. I am not exactly sure what it looked like but I remember it being difficult

@Kyle W Hey Kyle, Harness is out of the leather seat now. So to my understanding regarding the cloth seat harness, the only thing i need to transfer is the cloth harness and plug it in exactly where it is plugged in prior?

Posted

@HHHAlright!! Yes, the cloth harness will have all the plugs except for the memory module plugs and the cooled seat plugs.

Posted

@HHHalso, remove the memory module if you haven't already. No reason to leave it under there

@HHHso basically repeat the steps to remove the cloth harness and then install it into the leather seat

@Kyle W will do tomorrow and will keep you updated Kyle!, my second question would be what is the purpose of the 30 Fuse and where does it plug in?, is it for the passenger seat?

Posted

@HHHokay, cool deal! The 30amp fuse is for the passenger seat harness. ****If your truck has those pins in the passenger harness already then you don't need the fuse or the passenger harness from harnessdr. This video shows you. I recommend watching the whole thing but around the 13 minute mark he installs that fuse and wire.

@Kyle W hey Kyle! Good news is the driver seat works! And first and foremost thank you very much for your help! My passenger seat on the other hand still does not, i checked my harness and two connectors that you pinpointed are there and one is missing.

@Kyle W my other concern is this is what it says on the harnessdr website, my truck is a 2022.5 i assume the refresh means the bigger screens and the new front end :

Fits:

2019 – 2022: 1500 Silverado/Sierra Trucks

2020 – 2023: 2500HD, 3500HD Silverado/Sierra Trucks

Does Not Fit:

2019 LD (carry over 2018 K2XX): Silverado/Sierra Trucks

2022.5 “Refresh” – 2023+: 1500 Silverado/Sierra Trucks

2024+: 2500/3500 Silverado/Sierra Trucks
