Our local chevy dealer buys Adaptive One pads from Napa when they don't have any of there regular parts in stock. Basically the same pads as the silver/gold because it's likely the same people making them for both places. Food for thought.

I do remember seeing that on the GM page some time ago but didn't really pay attention and just kind of glossed over the info. I guess I need to pay more attention to details. The good thing is that all 3 levels of parts are backed by GM which is important.

This is great, learn something every day, and thank you @newdude for the detailed info. Each of you have been helpful and why I love these forums. I as well didn't realize the GM part hierarchy with OEM/Gold/Silver but makes sense when you think about it.

Relating to NAPA, I also tend to shop there vs the other stores and have found their parts to be pretty reliable compared to the competition (Napa Gold filters, etc..). Other things like this I try to stick with OEM where I can but as we have seen that's not always easy.

Will the Gold brake pads last as long as OEM and stop the truck as well?

We use the golds all the time.  They work quite well.

12674639/15-51125 is the 207F thermostat.  19474058/15-51125G is the ACDelco Gold/Professional line and is also 207F.  12674634/15-11113 is the 194F thermostat.

ACDelco Gold/Professional line are not the OEM part/supplier typically, they are made by one of the major aftermarket suppliers.

So lets pretend that Motorad is the supplier to GM for the OEM one and build 12674639 to GM OEM specs, the ACDelco Gold/Professional one is supplied by Stant and is built to spec but might use cheaper components or alternative materials, etc.  Same with brake pads.  The OEM ones are made from the OEM suppliers (TRW, Akebono, etc.) but the ACDelco Gold and Silver line are all made by what was the Affinia's Global Brake division which is now spun off to Frist Brands Group.  ACDelco Gold and Silver all all the same as Raybestos brakes.

Hey sorry to revive this but I just got a replacement tstat from my local Chevy dealer and they provided a cardboard box with an ac Delco gold part number of 15-11125G but it has the GM genuine part number of 19474058 right above it on the same label on the box. On the housing, it has the GM number then the ACD gold number and “Made in China”. This is definitely not oem, right? Did they discontinue the oem part or something? I’m just confused why a dealer would be selling aftermarket parts I guess. My truck is a 2014 1500 5.3.

That is the latest and greatest OEM thermostat.  They dropped it from being the "Gold" version and replaced the 12674639 with it.  Comes in a Genuine GM OEM cardboard box too.

Also, GM has stuff made in China all the time.

Also also.  Back to my original bit on these.  Its one of the major manufacturers of thermostats that was supplying the original OEM one, as well as the current version.  Motorad, Stant, etc.  GM doesn't make their own thermostats and if they did, its been decades.  Many decades.
