I sold my gasser 3500 last Thursday and my dealer placed the order for my new one the same day. The order was accepted right away (they obviously had allotment available)

Yesterday I was told the build week would be April 14th. This morning I was informed that it is supposed to be built tomorrow on the 4th. Thankfully a Flint build.   Thats only 8 days.

No doubt that Precision will sit on it for a while since the last 2 took over 2 weeks to make the 11 mile trek to my dealer.

It aint here yet so I wont count my chickens but thats by far the fastest build I have ever had.

The cab and box were welded up today and sent to the coating process and then paint sometime this afternoon, supposed to be assembled tomorrow.

Its a good thing orders can not be changed once its fed into the system as otherwise some idiot could call up and change the color to ... oh, bright pink for an example 😄

I pulled hard for a red interior but it ended up being futile

I wish in a way that my truck would have had a deep red interior, the black carpet is bad for showing up the the smallest specks of lint or anything else. I was not even really sure what the radiant red exterior would have for carpet color but suspected probably dark given the seat color. They don't give much for choices for seat color, I did opt for the jet black/umber combo to give some contrast, its ok but I would have preferred a a rich darker brown insert as an example. Oh and real leather seats, I don't even know how they can legally get away with it and call it leather. The only GM that has real leather is the Denali Ultimate.

GM must be caught up to be building an order within days or somehow your build matched up with their current build theme. I though that with the just in time delivery of the components that would need more lead time to have it all sorted out to all show up.

Its a combination of all those factors, the timing along with the fact that they are catching up plus it doesnt hurt to have sources either.

Does this mean you will be attending the main build of your truck on the assembly line and hop in when they do the test on the rollers ?

Built and in validation for Monday AM and then to the bedliner people across the street. After that I am at the mercy of Precision to ship it the grueling 11 miles to my dealer

I've had a 2500 trail boss on order since The first week of February.......  Apparently they are having issues building them with the multi-flex tailgates.

I ordered mine with the standard tailgate. Its likely a supplier issue somewhere in the process of building that tailgate. Lots of crazy little things that slow them down.

Customers rarely know for sure what the hold ups are, the people that actually know cant/wont talk publicly

the truck is through evaluation and back from the bedliner. Sitting in the lot just East of I-75 and the I-69 ramp. We have to go by there later today so I am going to see if I can spot it. I know right where its sitting awaiting that grueling 11 mile trek to the dealer
