Very sad people are losing their lives here

Personally, I've never believed those Explorer accidents were caused by the tires, why did most of the accidents happen on one model vehicle, the Ford Explorer, when those very same tires are used on many different vehicles???

The design of the Explorer does make it more prone to roll overs than many sedans, but it is no more prone to rolling over than a Blazer or Durango. The Explorer was and is the most popular mid size SUV in the current SUV trend that started in the mid to late '90s, and many people who bought them do not understand or care about the importance of proper vehicle maintnence. Tires need to be maintained just like anyother part of a car and many people completely neglect them. In addition, there is evidence that shoddy tires were produced by Bridgestone as the percentage of rolled Explorers equipped with Goodyear tires was drastically less than the percentage of those equipped with Firestones. Ford is partly to blame too since they put the demand on Bridgestone to make more tires for the popular SUV; however, Ford alone can't be blamed.

I'll agree it may be 100% Fords blame, but 99% of the rollovers reported in the reports, etc that I saw were Explorers.

I think Firestone/Bridgestone took the fall for that personally.

I do agree that proper maintenance and not driving a vehicle in such a way that it is not intended are a must
