You would need something to feed a low voltage signal to the signal return wire.

 

I can't remember offhand what voltage between 0 and 5V corresponds to higher pressure - you'd want it somewhat closer to the lower end, but not too low as that will throw a code.

 

Easy way to check is watch the scan tool before and after you unplug the sensor. Unplugging it is the same as feeding it 5V.
