Mack3748 Posted June 23, 2025 Posted June 23, 2025 Since new I have had a whistling/metal rubbing coming from my left front tire used to only happen when I was driving 40 k to 80k/h. Now happened all the time from 40k/h and up. Goes away in 4wd. And comes right back in 2wd. I tried the usual test for a wheel bearing and seems fine. I now have 130k on the truck. Brakes will need to be done soon. I was planning on doing them when I switch back to winters. Any ideas?
Mario C Posted June 23, 2025 Posted June 23, 2025 I have 2020 Silverado. Same symptoms, did a ride along with dealer mechanic showed how it stops in 4x4. They took in and told I needed brakes. Checked wheel bearings all good. My mechanic said front brakes were good maybe your tire. I needed tires 70 k. Noise stopped then started again. Could be the front brakes ( bad indicator). I am trading it in so let someone else look for it.
RAYS B4U Posted June 23, 2025 Posted June 23, 2025 The "infamous, Jingle, jingle" sound strikes again! There is a very long thread on here about it. Here, I believe, is the latest fix for it. PIP5653M
Mario C Posted June 23, 2025 Posted June 23, 2025 Wow good to hear. I guess my GM dealer doesn’t get these bulletins or doesn’t want to. I even to the mechanic out for a ride and put in 4x4. Said it was brakes and wanted to charge 900 dollars. I said no way. I am going to bring this bulletin down them. Thanks for the in
