Upgraded Dash Speakers

Over the weekend, i replaced the dash speakers in my 2024 GMC. I went with Audiofrog GS25 from Crutchfield. Very simple to do. They came with the wiring pigtails, same OHM rating as factory. They sound light years better! Listened to some Frank Sinatra, Shinedown and some country, so much more detail in the music! There are probably equal speakers that cost much less, but i'm pleased with my choice. Next up is adding the GM subwoofer under rear seat with the bass knob.

How easy was it to get the dash speakers out?  Are these on top of the dash?

 

Crutchfield is cool.  Been to their store in VA many times.  It's like christmas.

What were the speakers you replaced? Bose?

Yes, i have the Bose system.

Yes, these are the speakers in the top of the dash. Take both grab handles off (10 mm bolts), then pop the front-most dash cover off. Two 7mm bolts hold in each speaker.

Don't get the OEM sub system. There are many better options for the same/ or less

Thanks.  I see now the grab handles have access covers over the 10mm screws.  Very easy.
