2015 1500 Silverado LTZ 5.3l, automatic.

My power steering is acting up. I just installed a new belt on something that looks like a pump but it isn't a pump, or at least it doesn't LOOK

like a conventional power steering pump. The system is electric, has a control module. My scanner cannot pull codes on the power steering system

at idle with the wheels straight or going down the road (with the wheels straight) no issue, when making a turn of more than 1/8th turn of the wheel

the truck stops, give it gas it moves like the parking brake is on, there is a distinct drag; the truck stops, goes if you give it gas...there is a low frequency sound, groan? The groan goes away when the wheel is straightened. TIA!!

I dunno, off the top of my head, and having to replace the upper control arm (UCA) at one point, might want to check that out?

It kinda sounds to me like your 4 wheel drive might be engaged.
