New recall

Does anyone know what the recall was for? I just got it 2 days ago for my 2024 silverado LT 1500. I read what up date was for, but didn't really understand what it was updating.

What was the recall #?  Should be like "N242435630" as an example.  Should show you in the update history/updates installed in the update section in radio settings.

I just got a message on my center display today, saying there was a pending update.  I think the number ended in 132.  It said something about updating for the low oil pressure indication.  

 

Does that sound like what you got, 15 z71?

Some GMC Sierra And Yukon Units Need An ECM Software Update

GM has issued a Service Update that applies to certain units of GMC full-size trucks and SUVs, including the Sierra, Yukon, and Yukon XL, which is related to an ECM software update. For GMC models, it applies specifically to the 2021-2024 Sierra 1500 and 2022-2023 Yukon and Yukon XL.

The Service Update, number N252510321, applies both to vehicles brought to the dealership by customers and to Sierra, Yukon, and Yukon XL units currently in dealer inventory. The involved trucks and SUVs are marked “Open” on their Investigate Vehicle History page.

 

Affected models need a software update to add a Driver Information Center (DIC) warning message to the existing Check Engine Light if DTC P0016 is set. If the necessary update isn’t applied, drivers may not be adequately notified of a potential problem that the Check Engine Light is trying to show them.

The fix involves reprogramming the Engine Control Module (ECM). Luckily for owners who have accepted the applicable terms and conditions, the necessary software changes can be made via an over-the-air (OTA) update, so they won’t have to bring their GMC to a dealership. For those who do go to the dealership for the fix, it should take less than an hour.

 

The fix is available free of charge to Sierra, Yukon, and Yukon XL owners through the end of the specific truck or SUV’s New Vehicle Limited Warranty period. It’s unclear at this time how many models are affected, but we know that only the aforementioned model years are affected.

The 2021-2024 GMC Sierra 1500 and 2022-2023 GMC Yukon/Yukon XL all ride on the GM T1 platform, which debuted when the current-generation Sierra came out for the 2019 model year. We’re expecting the next generation of GM full-size trucks to arrive for the 2027 model year, and their respective SUV versions should follow shortly thereafter.

When I brought my 22 refreshed Denali in for the L87 recall, they did the ECM software update.  #N252510321.
