We’ve been working hard to bring Apple Music natively to your GM vehicle and it’s finally here. Drivers can now enjoy millions of songs, curated playlists, exclusive content, live global radio, and personalized recommendations, all seamlessly integrated into the in‑vehicle experience.

For customers in eligible vehicles with the latest software, the new Apple Music app will automatically appear on the infotainment screen once the over‑the‑air update is installed. No dealer visit or customer action is required. Please note that Apple Music is not available for download in the Google Play store.

This is a phased rollout. We began releasing the update on December 15, and it may take a little time to reach every vehicle. If your vehicle is eligible in this first phase and you don’t see the app yet, hang tight—we’re working hard to deliver it in the next wave. Additional Cadillac and Chevrolet vehicles, along with Buick and GMC vehicles, will receive Apple Music in the coming months.

I suppose this is a bit of an olive branch from GM but the underlying purpose of this entire thing (ditching CarPlay/AA) is for GM to monetize in-car services for ongoing, long-term income.  Yes, that's business and I understand that in a capitalist world, the purpose of a business is to make money.  That being said, I'll have to exercise my capitalist "right" in the future as well.  Sadly, after being a life-long GM owner, there won't be another GM purchase for me based solely on the lack of CarPlay/AA support.

I'm sorry GM Customer Service, but my 2021 Silverado will be my last GM Product.  Even with the Apple Music app, I'd still be required to use your in-car wi-fi, and I still would not have access to Apple Maps and Messaging, which I use daily in my truck. CarPlay/AA support is a "have to have" for me when I buy a new vehicle.
