Rear dome light assembly issues.

I just bought this 2019 Silverado Custom. The back dome light hasn’t been working since I bought the truck. So today I dug into it and come to find out it was disconnected. Well I thought that was weird so I connected it now it doesn’t turn off. Has anyone else had this issue? Is the light assembly faulty? Should I look into replacing it with a new one?

So I sat here for 10 minutes and the dome light finally turned off. Checked it a couple of times and it seems to be the norm. The push on doesn’t seem to work so I’m thinking the fixture may be faulty. Going to order a new one and see if this issue fixes itself.

have you gone through the owners manual for how it's supposed to work?  that it goes off after 10 minutes indicates the bulb itself is at least partially workiung correctly.  it's exact operation depends on which button you use to turn it on/off, doors being unlocked/locked/opened/closed, when the ignition key was turned on/off...
