This doesn't look like a GM truck. Not needed on a HD truck

Not true! I have been runing them since 2006 F250!

suspension component that works as a sway bar, a traction bar, and a helper spring points directly to the RoadActive Suspension (RAS) kit.

Works as a sway bar, a traction bar, and a helper spring.

I've got them and I think they work pretty decent, what I noticed right away is it took some of the bounce out of the rear end when going across washboard roads and railroad tracks when not towing. When towing my 5th wheel it seems to make the truck more stable.

Which ones did you get the HD or MD?

After driving back from South Carolina this morning, I can confidently say the unloaded ride is considerably better with the RAS installed than it was without it. The truck feels more stable, smoother over bumps, and overall more controlled. I wasn't expecting such a noticeable difference when unloaded, but so far I'm very impressed with the improvement.

Since the ride appears better, does that mean they are adjusted up so that it lifted the truck up some and therefore taking some of the workload off of the main spring pack and also preventing the main pack from landing down onto the bottom overload spring ?. A friend of mine put them on his half ton chev for towing a bumper pull RV as the half ton has rather sad springs to begin with and carrying much weight isn't what they were made for ... ride is the half tons bonus though because of that.

I imagine it probably states in the instructions or application that its not meant to fit the 1 ton or I assume it would not fit as the overload leafs would be in the way and perhaps even the frame pad for that matter when the suspension would get stroked out with weight or a big bump.

By rights these trucks should come from the factory or at least have a factory optional anti sway bar for towing high trailers and certainly slide in campers. GM always used to have their trucks fitted with rear sway bars if optioned properly but for some odd reason don't do that anymore. Certainly a sway bar would help that issue a lot, not the ride though but the leaning/control.

Most 1 ton trucks come with the factory overload spring, which need to be removed for installation of RoadActive Suspension. Removing the overload allows proper fitment and ensures the system works as intended. The RAS® Mega-Duty kit will reduce squat and provide significant improvement vs the factory overload spring.

Yes I have is set with the 1mm disk (Minumim Tension), for spring spacing and I raised my truck in the rear 1.5". You can go 2mm  and I think 3mm if you need.Minimum. We are on our way to TN from GA.. My wife is driving and stated she cannot believe  and   stated she can not belive the difference.

Good question, I don't remember for sure but I believe it was the HD. I will check and get back to you.
