2003 GMC Sierra Brake Question

Hi All, I am new to this site and I am firing off many questions in many threads, but I wanted to start my own thread for this one. I did a complete site search of Brake Problems and didn't find anything too relevant so I am asking out right:

Does anyone else feel that their GM Truck, with Disc Brakes, inspires as much confidence when depressing the brakes as skydiving with a swiss cheese parachute? I snowmobile and ATV, so all year long I am towing an enclosed Clam Shell Trailer and when I need to stop it's an awful feeling...the brakes just feel very mushy...the dealer claims it's normal...

Any thoughts or advice would be great...

Oh, and I asked about adjusting the brakes via ABPV and they looked at me like I was asking for a spare kidney...

I don't have a mushy feeling, but I and others will agree that the nbs trucks(at least my 99) have overly sensitive abs which tends to kick on if you apply the brakes right as the truck is going over bumps. I've learned to get used to it though.

I traded in my Honda Civic for a '01 Silverado. At first, I said the same thing. But after a while, I got used to them. I've had other people who do drive GM's on a regular basis (Burbs) and said they were fine.

Don't worry!

I have not noticed a problem with mine. I regularly also drive a ford  (ouch,...wifes car) and comparatively like my GMC's braking much better.

Thanks all...it sounds like, overall, that it's a sh*ty feeling pedal, but it gets the job done which is the most important thing so I can live with that. As far as the ABS coming on too soon over bumps or wet surfaces, that's like that on my Infiniti G35 too so I know that's just an ABS quirk.

Thanks again to all who responded!
