Extended Cab Vent Window Problem

Recommended Posts

Hello Everyone, I'm new on the forum so please forgive me if this has been discussed before. I have a 2003 1500 Silverado Ext. Cab with approx 11,000 miles. Recently I noticed that the passenger-side rear vent window is separating from the rubber seal in the front. It appears that the rubber seal is all that is holding the front of the window. I took the truck to the dealer and they had it all day. I got the truck back and they told me that they had removed the window, re-glued it and re-installed it. However it doesn't appear that they did anything. Has anyone else had this problem? Would I be better off taking it back to the dealer or to an automotive glass shop? Thanks for any help.

Bring it back to the dealer, it is under warranty.

The entire assembly has to be replaced. They might send you to a glass company, but it is still GM's bill.

We have done quite a few of these for the same reason you are stating, luckily enough, we don't have to sub out our work, we've got a pretty decent glass guy.

Hope this helps.
