VOLANT VS AFE

I've got a Volante and like it. It was a tight fit, but everything lined-up fine and it seems to be a decent quality. I did have to trim the rubber hose connector and barely trim my shroud where the two were rubbing, but I like it.

It also changes the sound a bit, since you get a lot more intake-honk, especially when you get after it. (combined with my 89/93 Wester's, my truck sounds really kick-ass, not loud, but deep and rumbly  !!)

It is just a debate (closed element vs open element). My personal opinion is I like the closed element because of the theory that it lets in better quality air but it is probably just a toss-up between it and an open element design. Just for your information my volant intake actually came with afe air filter from the factory. You can modify the stock air box to let in more air & add a k&n filter to get about the same performance but for mucho mucho cheaper.

I can not tell you about the AFE, but I put a Volant on my Escalade, I had 4 K&N FIPK on my last 4 Suburbans and was not happy with the noise from the t-body, the fit and finish of the Volant were very good, I will buy another.

2nd  for the AEM Brute Force. I like it because it was simple to install, looks awesome and gave me much better throttle response and noticeable improvements across the power band.
