Bravada goes to Caddilac

I just read that the Olds Bravada will become a Caddy in 2004.  It is already plush enough to be a Caddy but they will undoubtable add a few more Caddy touches to it.  Of course the tailights and grill will be changed (probably something in the lines of the angular look that Caddy is heading towards).

It will also maintain the 4200 I-6 and the 270 hp rating.  There is talk however of a twin-turbo 400 HP option.

The reason behind this is because Ford will be making a fancy-shmancy version of the Explorer for Lincoln....

I heard this long time ago.  Back in 2000/01 when they announce olds was going under

Alero is supposed to be going to chevy the minivan from olds (sillohuete) is getting canned.

I think the Bravada to Caddy move is a good idea (after being renamed, restyled, etc.) for GM.  It will fill a niche in Caddy's line, and it won't be getting rid of a good vehicle (of course, there would be the trailblazer and the envoy anyway...)

Is the Alero going to take the place of the malibu?  Those are pretty much the same car now, except the Alero has the coupe option.
