RyanbabZ71 Posted May 29, 2004 Posted May 29, 2004 Well Today I couldnt take my rear brake noise anymore. Pulled the tire off and when I turned the wheel by hand it sounded horrible and the rotors looked like total ****. I had the new rear pads so I took everything apart. Man the pads were sure worn down. I took the rotors to be turned they sandblasted them and made them look good he said I can get them turned probably 1 more time. Put everything back together and the rear drivers side brake is as quiet as can be (for now knock on wood). I also changed the brake fluid. Now I need to fix my U joint problem (thats still there )
RyanbabZ71 Posted May 29, 2004 Author Posted May 29, 2004 also the brake pedal seems a little mushy (maybe its just me) but it seems like you have to press more (not as firm) to stop.
budhayes3 Posted May 30, 2004 Posted May 30, 2004 Maybe your pads haven't seated yet? Or possibly some air got worked into the system when you bled the brakes? I've also heard something about having to use the scan tool and activate the accumulator if the fluid level gets to low and air is allowed to enter the system. Just throwing some ideas out there.
SteveCZ Posted May 30, 2004 Posted May 30, 2004 This brings up a good question that I've been meaning to ask. How difficult is it to flush the brake fluid out? I've seen things that as you drain the old fluid out, it sucks new fluid in from a fresh bottle (just don't run out in the fresh bottle)... Or, is it a two person deal, where as one person pulls the plug on one caliper, the other just keeps topping off the reservoir? Thanks
