How to balance torsion bars

Does anyone know how to get the torsion bars back to approximaely stock settings? Someone other than myself adjusted them and they are no way near factory settings. Does anyone know where to measure (on the A frame or frame) just so I can get them close until the service manual is relased. They were cranked until the bolts wouldn't turn anymore. I backed them down 5 turns already and I think they should be turned down a couple more. I just don't know if they are balanced or how much more to back them down. Thanks

The proper way to set the torsion bars is to set the trim height. The trim height is the measurement from the center of the pivot point on the lower control arm (The center of the bolt on the lower control arm) to the ground. The measure the flat part of the control arm by the ball joint to the ground. The difference between the 2 is the trim height.

Here's a link that describes it in more detail. Here

This info. is for an s-10 though.

Here is also a link to a post I made earlier about what the factory specs. for what my truck should be.Here
