Matt,  I have heard that some people have had noises coming from the latching mechanism itself that you release when you fold the rear seat.  You can try to lube it, and in some cases people have removed it...

Mine had a metal on metal sound while riding down the road sometimes and especially when people entered the back seat.  I unbolted the seat and found the rubber offsets on the back of the seat had broken off the seats bracket.  So I placed them back, wrapped a little Duck Tape around it and placed the seat back.

Hope this helps.

Same problem here.  What exactly did you unbolt?

Thanks

I unbolted to four bolts on the floor board.  From there the back of the seat sides up to remove it from the hinges on the back of the truck.  When you look at the back of the seat you will see a metal bracket with two holes cut into it where a rubber spacer was.  The spacer has two tiny rubber holders that boke through the bracket and have  broken off.  The rubber pieces are either in the seat near the bracket or on the floor, or maybe you so them on the floor and didn't know what they were and threw them away.  Anyway, mine had fallen into the back of the seat so I placed them on the back of the bracket by hand and duck taped them.  Maybe a little confusing, but not too complicated.

Was it like a thud noise when you hit a bump?  Or if you sit down on the rear seat you can hear the noise agaisnt the back under the window

I have been trying to hunt down the exactl location to no avail and your info hopefully will work

If you've lost the little rubber bumper thingy's, you may be able to pick up a sutible replacement at Lowe's of Hope Depot.  I know our Lowes has an isle with drawers full of all sorts of little things lite that.

One last question for you (thanks so much for your replies)

How long does it take to remove the bolts and fix?

I am thinking ill do it tonight but do not want to waste a few hrs when i have some HW to do also.  If its like an hr thing that will work.  If not itll have to wait till saturday

THANKS!

It took about 6 minutes to remove it the seat. About 10 minutes to remount and tape the rubber bumpers and about 6 minutes to reinstall the whole seat.

Mine did this.   Took it in for warranty work and they found some plastic insulators where not installed at the factory.

Mine hasnt started making the thud sound when i go over bumps, only a metal to metal sound when someone is riding back there and they move around..  i will try what you said vhato, and see if it makes it be quite.

Didnt get a chance to do it tonight.  I plan on doing it saturday along with an oil change and grease fitting replacement (90 degree)

Do it all in one day rather than a few jobs here and there

Ryanbab,

It was VERY easy to remove the back seat, just like vhato said, there is 2 small brackets at the edges of the seat, and behind it there should be a rubber insert, mine was in the floor, it measures about 3 inch long, and mabey 1 inch wide, one side was tapered about half the way down, only one of the rubber insert holders had broken off, so i put it back on and wrapped it in electral tape, works fine now, no squeek.  Total time 10-15 minutes... depending on how much stuff you keep stored under the back seet :)
