After reading all the comments here and on other forums I am asking myself a few questions. Are these quality that GM is building or are the people here just gear heads more apt to notice problems no matter how small?

We are probably more picky.  I know i am especially after i read stuff on here.

I know that I notice every little thing about my truck now that I read the posts closely.  I think that is the real benefit of this forum and others like it.  I mean these trucks are SCRUTINIZED.  If theres a problem or issue of any sort, no matter how small, you know about it.  Are they low quality trucks?  I dont think so but I'm no expert.  Seems to me that they all have things about them no matter what brand.  Imagine having your job performance scrutinized to the level these trucks are!! 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by experts on your job! I'd be fired in a day! Thats what I think these forums do to the trucks.  Being a newbie to trucks I pay attention to things I wouldnt have a clue about if I didnt read it here.  Things like drive line "clunk", wind noise around the windshield or rear windows I probably wouldnt have noticed or if I did I would have thought that "its just the way it is".

Just my$.02, sorry for rambling!!

Just an FYI, GM came out ABOVE Ford in both Quality and # of Problems per 100 vehicles in the last JD powers tests( i think it was JD Powers)

I am picky...  and it is multiplied by the outragous costs of these new trucks!!!

Exactly!  I'm real picky about certain things.  One of my major pet peev's are things that are loose and rattle/squeak/knock/or any other noise you can think of.  And of course mechanical problems.

Same here. Rattles, squeeks, bumps. Gotta go. Sometimes if the rear seat is folded up while going down the road it will rattle. Every stop light is a trial to get that motha to stop.

I'm very picky about my cars and trucks. This forum helps though. i have learned what is normal noise for the truck (wind noise for instance).

It is good that we talk about the problems and bring them up to the dealer. That is direct feed back to GM. I had a 99 GMC Serria and now a 01 Silverado. The trucks are night and day in quality. That is a result of problem reported by owners. Be picky with your truck. It will help you and the next guy also.
