New Maxima

Well I was returning home from the folks house pulling the 10' Wells cargo loaded with the 48" commercial mower and other light lawn items. Some guy in a new Maxima(still had the temp tags) pulls up on the right and is eyeballing the truck. The light turns green and I get on it fairly good. He's left daydreaming. He then decides to do a fly by and pass me as his lane ends due to construction. Of course I had already dropped back to near the posted speed(35) at this point. He then is tailgating this dump truck and quickly runs off with his tail between his legs when the lane opens back up again.

Well they're 240 horse if I recall and obviously a lot lighter. Not sure how much effort he put into it...but I was amused with him straddling the line to try to get around the dump truck and race away.

The new Maxima's have a 3.5-liter DOHC 24-valve V6 engine 265 hp @ 5,800 rpm.

No doubt, I recall driving one back when the folks were looking for something new about 5 years ago and it did move. Of course I'm sure they've been done up quite a bit since then. I just enjoyed him cutting in at the last minute then doing the lane straddling as if he was trying to run away. I know he could've taken care of business if he had tried. I think he was just caught off guard then pissed because of it. But I had to give him something to see after he was eyeballing my truck/trailer

Being an "officer of the law", you should be excersising more self-restraint in these types of situations.......

Well I kept it modest on the speedo...the trailer kind of helps out in that regard. I do see plenty driving to/from work and around...these streets with 2 lanes narrowing into 1(that's the big one), etc. Everyone has that "gotta be first" attitude.

Those Maximas do haul he probably didn't figure someone with a loaded trailer would race him by the time he realized, you were already up to 35. What else was he going to do than a "fly by" He was just trying to show you that his car hauls ass. I give the Maximas a lot of credit its a 4 door 350Z.

Come on, I have an 04 3.5 Maxima and the car really impresses me. Its no 440 chrysler or BB chevy but its a strong runner
