Avy Gas Mileage

Today I filled up for the first time. Cost me bout $24. I got around 15.5 mpg on my first tank. After running around today I have about 500 miles on my new truck. I washed it again today so it will rain some more.

 

What kind of mileage are you guys seeing?

15.5-16. 2800 miles. Letting it warm up now that winter is here, so that hurts mpg. 3.73 rear end with 5.3L.

From two fill ups this week:  18.4 and 19.5.  I've got 7400 miles and started running Valvoline full synthetic at 5000.  Since new, the mileage has been between 18 and 21, running about 650-700 mostly highway miles a week.  (Of course, some of the 100 miles a day I spend on I-96 can hardly be called highway miles!)

My milage in town is lousy, but that's to be expected with this truck. On the bright side, at 75mph with the cruise on, the truck gets a freakishly high 18-19mpg, with me and about 500 pounds of extra stuff in it. I have the 3.73 rear end.

Man, I either have a led foot, or my combined freeway/city must but getting killed with my tires. I average 14.5 to 15!

I forget what it was new. But then again, I had to get the PCV replaced,... maybe that will help?

 

Hey Greg,... you drive I96 too? I am on it everyday from Brighton to I275.... how about you?

Did you ever get reprogramed for the 285's??   Does Hypertech or anyone even have that option with the 17" wheels (which I assume you have?).  Maybe your milage is better than you think...   ???

BbBlkAvalanche, yep, 5 days a week from Brighton to downtown Detroit.  I'm glad the Av's cloth seats are nice and comfortable.  I'll keep an eye out for your rig.  Mine's a white 2WD.  (Well, it was brown until I washed it this afternoon.)

I filled up Saturday night and got 16.1 mpg. With just 2300 miles it has been getting better by the tankfull to the tune of about 1.2 mpg per tank

Filled up yesterday:  14.9 mpg with the clock at 900 miles.

 

Not bad considering I don't drive on the highway that much, AND I have the 4.10 axle.

Ive been getting about 19mpg on the highway I havent been to concerned about the city since the weather has been cold. I filled up yesterday I put in 105 liters cost me $65.00 I wish I could fill up for $24.00

I pulled an 11.1 last fill.  Nothing but city driving(1-10 mile trips) and using a 4.10.  Beats my 89 350tbi by abot 2  mpg so I aint complaining.

15 mpg poking around and 18 highway. Interesting

enough I took a trip to pick up a bunch of snowplow

cutting edges some 10' which hung off the open

tailgate and got 20 for the trip..hmmm.
