Engine sources?

I am looking for sources for a replacement engine for my 87 suburban. Currently has standard 350ci with fuel inj.

I would also like any info I can find on what is included in a crate engine from GM or local parts store. They can't seem to tell me.

Welcome to the forum. Some good places to start if you're looking for a crate engine is http://www.gmpartsdirect.com you should see the link for engines on the top.

I don't know what auto parts store you tried, but Checker Auto carries crate engines as well. The guys at your local one should be able to help you. If not, I'll give you the number for the one in hales corners, wi. They know what they're talking about.

Welcome to the forum... I don't know where you are from, but this dealer about 40 miles from me has a great selection and info on GM Performance parts/crate engines. He is located in Ohio...

Thanks for replies so far. I haven't checked with Checker, but neither Autozone nor local dealership was much help. :angry:

I am in Denver and will continue searching. It'll be a couple of months before I do this.

How about trying to fit a Cummins in there?!! I have got the bug to go out and find a wrecked vette and put the LT/LS1 into my 280zx, but I just got my truck so somehow I don't think the wife can persuaded!! ???
