Problem with Bridgestone 285's!!!

Hey All,

Not sure if you REVO tire owners are all aware of this but I found this on the Bridgestone site yesterday while researching other tire issues.

If you own 285/76-16 Bridgestone A/T REVO tires you'll want to check this out!

Mine are not effected.

You know who makes Bridgestones don't you? FIRESTONE!

Ahh,the recalls continue for Firestone,That is why when I took delivery of my new truck the first thing I did was take off the Bridgestones and replace them with Goodyears!

That is the only tires I will run,I have had nothing but good luck and great wear from Goodyears,on the last two trucks I had I got almost 50,000 miles on P265/75R16 Wrangler RT/S's

Are those E rated as well? Also how well do they do in snow and icy roads?

No,sorry bigdogs,the Wrangler RT/S's I was running were not "E" rated,they where on a 1/2 ton truck,but for the winter on my '99 I always ran a set of LT265/75R16 Goodyear Wrangler AT/S's in a load range "D" on a spare set of rims I had and I can tell you that when we got a few deep and heavy/wet snows here (near Pittsburgh,PA.) they went like a tank through the white stuff!

I do have a buddy that runs a set of LT245/75R16 RT/S's load range "E" and he says he gets around 40,000 miles out of them and they go good in the white stuff.

As I said before I have always had great luck with the Goodyears and would not use anything else,but its just like anything else (oil,gas,wax,etc.)everybody has there favorites!!

Thanks as looking for some replacements. I'm not real happy with the stock Bridgestones I have on there, in fact the other day when using the truck to remove a big hedge from the front of the house it was slipping (even in 4WD) on the lawn.

After reading the website you posted for Bridgestone, it appears that the Dueler A/T Revo's are not part of the recall.

Those aren't Revo's, dude . You should change the title of your post...

Yeah, this title should be changed, when it says Dueler AT's, that doesn't mean Revo's. Revo's are completely different from Dueler AT's, from tire compound to tread design. Nice info though. Chris

You guys are right and I stand corrected. If I could figure out how to change the title of this post I would change it!
