Need input quick!!!!!!!!!!&#33

Guys,

Need some quick input.  I have the opportunity to buy a 2001 2500 Suburban LT 4x4, Autoride, 6.0L, 4.10, Loaded.  Sticker on the truck is $45,130, dealer will sell for $40,325. Plus, I would get the 2.9% for 60 month financing.  I really was not planning on buying anything right now, but is this too good to pass up????

Let me get some feedback please!!!

Thanks. :)

As long as you are close to invoice (real close) then what you're getting is the financing (2.9%) which is a deal that you may not see for the rest of your life on a vehicle like that!!!

Are you trading the Silverado?  If so, the dealer will probably hammer you on it because he'll make his money on that vehicle.

For a straight out buy it sounds pretty good to me...  I'm at 7.5% for my HD...  I should've waited a few months (darn).

No, I am keeping the Silverado, this will be a straight out buy.  Dealer says he's $500 over invoice, not sure whether he is or isn't.  His numbers seems to jive with what I've researched on Edmund's. ???

Dealers here are 100 below invoice.

Try to talk him down a few hundred more. In any case, thats a good deal.

Like Mervz said, try and talk him down a few more hundred or get some freebies like lifetime inspections or some free oil changes.

either way the icing on the cake is the 2.9%...  I don't think you'll ever be able to see that again on a truck like that for a long time!!!

IMO if you like the Suburban and you feel confident about your financial situation, then you should get it.  I know that it won't give you the mpg's that your truck delivers, but to some people that doesn't matter.

What color is it?

I would try to haggle some more to get it 1k to $500 lower.  Here is what I would use for ammo:

1.  www.carsdirect.com  Based upon your description, their price is mid to upper $39k.

2.  GM discount.  Not sure if you were going to go cash here, but GM has a $2k rebate on 2001 'burbans if you don't need the 0% financing....may see what you can dicker to get it not to be a wash with local financing or GMAC rates.

3.  Logic in the fact that it is a relatively rare truck....2500 series....and an LT...that is chewing up his money financed the longer it sits on his lot...people in that price range are pretty dang close to Denali/Denali XL/Escalade range..unless someone really needs the HD advantage of the 2500 series for towing, etc, his audience is much smaller than the average Tahoe/Suburban crowd.

pwitzleb, you bring up some good points, Thanks.

Shaner's - Dark green/nuetral leather.

That would be a pretty color on a "burb" but alot of surface area to keep clean....
