Great service

I see alot of negative comments about dealers on this sight. Just wanted to let everone know that they're not all bad. Today I dropped off my 03 2500HD for 4 things. 1. steering shaft issue, 2. coolant leak, 3. squeaky belt, and 4. clear peeling off rims. I was told if it was the shaft it was on back order and they'd grease it.......what choice did I have????

Result, got a call from dealer and they said truck is ready, 2 new style shafts came in so I got one of them, leak fixed, new belt installed and 4 brand new rims on order at a cost to me of $0. Couldn't want more than that.

My dealer has been nothing less than excellent towards me too...

I will never buy another truck from any other dealer as long as I'm living in this area!!!

I here ya ,but this day and age peeps only B***h, They never give praise. It goes to the old marketing frase A happy customer will tell 2 people, a unhappy will tell anyone who will listen.

TimTim, that's great man! Can't say all the dealers around here would be as helpful. :chill:

One thought though, if ya don't mind, share the dealer's name and location so anyone else in your area can benefit from the good service!

Ewing Chevrolet, Canton Ohio. Think they've been in business since 1915.

Thanks for the praise for the Dealership. It takes a person with a lot of patience to deal with nothing but problems 50-60 hours every week and that's what the Service Department does. The ones that make you laugh the most is the person that comes in "My mechanic says this is the problem but he can't fix it".

As with any profession you have the great, good, OK and terrible. We in this industry go to great lengths to hire, train and KEEP those great employees. We go through many to get to the few great ones, and most are always a work in progress. Next time you have one of these people give you good service on your $40K purchase, thank them and watch their reaction. These people recieve 1 amount of praise for every 50 negatives. The praise will pay off for you later.

And remember, they do not enjoy telling you NO. It's easy to say yes and make everyone happy but big brother GM is watching everything and the policy and procedures manual for the Service Department is so thick they now put it on a CD. GM Rep's come to the Dealership monthly and audit your warranties and everything else. They call for tons of parts to be returned for inspection. Where we may make a call to help a customer out, GM will charge us back and be happy about it. It's not only GM but all manufacturers, they do not have to face the customer, we do. And it doesn't take too many chargebacks or fines to put a business under in todays market. It's like the Intermediate Steering shaft issues that customers think we are putting them off about. GM has over 114,000 on BackOrder as of Monday and there is nothing we can do about it but we are getting blessed out daily for it.

Thank you for the praise, I'm climbing down off the soap box now.

Does anyone have more detailed information on how to grease the intermediate steering shaft? I'd like to do mine till I can get it replaced but it's not immediately clear to me where the slimy stuff needs to go. TIA

My first post-purchase dealership experience was actually a dealership that I did not by the truck from. Sunnyvale, CA Chevrolet was very professional and swift when replacing my seat track,

What really struck me there was that there was a senior sevice guy that was observing a trainee who was receiving my truck. He was very detailed about doing a thorough walkaround the truck and writing up the work order. Good to see the dealership is serious about training their staff.

Another thing was the shuttle driver was a very nice guy that is working his way through school as an auto tech. I know I'm getting old when I say stuff like this.....but I was also very encouraged to see that type of motivation in today's young folks. :chill:
