Wheel nut torque

Anybody know correct torque for wheel nuts on a 1500 4wd?

Someone else will most likely chime in here but if memory serves me right it's 140ft/lbs. and make sure to criss cross your tighting sequance.

 

so go 1,4,2,5,3,6.

I too remembered it being around 120 lbs. but according to discount tire, it is supposed to be 140.

On the NBS trucks, if they are aluminum rims, any style, torque has to be 140 ft. lbs.

 

Can be kinda hard to get up to that torque by hand. I sort of sneak up on it. I begin at 90 ft. lbs., going around in the cross-pattern shown in the owner's manual, then re-set my torque wrench to 120 lbs. and go around in the same pattern, then finish at 140.

I just put the air wrench on then and pull the trigger. when it stops, it is tight......

 

At least thats what daddy told me to do.

1/2" impact gun by feel...haven't lost a wheel or warped a rotor yet. Always use a star or criss cross pattern too.

Right out of the GM Manual and as an added bonus the proper spark gap for specific engines............

140 ft.lbs. And NO impact wrench!!! Whatsoever!!! Don't ever use an impact wrench by itself!!! Torque wrench or torque sticks only!!!
