Changing Spark Plugs

I'm changing the spark plugs in my '00 5.3 next week. How do the wires come off? Do they just pull off, or is there a trick to them? Do the plugs come out with just a ratchet and socket? Is there anything I need to do in preparation before taking the plugs out or installing the new ones? I've never changed spark plugs before, so please go easy on me.

I just put my Iridiums in today (4.8) wasn't too hard. Wires are just pushed on, I found it easiest to take the coil side off first and twist the plug part till it broke free. The plugs are angled toward the back a little.

ya the wire has kind of a metal piece on the part that is pushed onto the plug. do i twist that off or does the wire just pull off completely?

Unless there is a problem with the calendar, you have responded to a thread dated NOVEMBER 2004

 I have not laughed my arss off that hard in along time! :flag: I never would have thought to look at the thread on the date. Good job MIKEEE! :D But just in case HALEN5150 is still looking for support on those wires, just pull the damn things off one at a time, compare each one with the new ones in the box, to ensure that you do not use the wrong size wire in the wrong place, and to make sure that you are putting the new wire from the correct plug to the right coil terminal. Have fun gettin dirty, now that you are dusty!
