you just have to love the telecom industry. I lost a job when AT&T and Cingular merged but that is the way the industry is. As far as NASCAR they will probably change the name and the points system again just to keep people on thier toes.

I've got Sprint and no complaints. They were like the first to do the Nationwide long distance. I had airtouch which then became verizon and wasn't thrilled. Too much cash for the limited minutes, etc...of course this was a few years ago. But heck, just not giving them anymore money to spend on commercials with that (fill in the blank here) doing the "Can you hear me now" bs is enough reason for me.

Rumor has been out for a week. At least my stock in Nextel is doing better. Anyway, my wife works for a Nextel dealer and no one knows anything about the merger. IMO Sprint sucks where I live, Nextel is by far the best for service. I live in the country and all my friends have Nextel so the direct connect is great. I had Verizon and it just sucked my money when ever I traveled, not with Nextel. Now that I'm off my high horse, let the flames begin! :troll:

I will give you that Nextel has great service....where you can get it. When I have a signal it's always crystal clear. Problem is if I drive 5 miles in the wrong direction I lose it. IMO the problem with Nextel is it's a proprietary netowrk...IE. you can't roam off other people towers. But like Nextel told me..."Roaming is free"......DOH....that's because you can't roam.

People are probably wondering...why I got nextel if I think they suck so much....my other choices were Suncom and Alltel.....So I took the lesser of all the evils....plus people I work with have Nextel.

I had a Nextel for about 6 years and it was great around the Charlotte area but sucked once you got into the lesser populated areas.

I have Verizon now and it works better that Nextel but still has much to be desired. I have to go outside to use it at my house. "Can You Hear Me Now". I complained to Verizon and they acknowledged they were aware of problems in my area and plans were to install additonal towers in the near future.

We'll See!

BINGO!!! That is why Sprints network is FAR more superior to Nextels. IMHO. Yea DC is cool and all your buddies have it. But you leave an interstate you loose. Thats how it is here and its BAD! I wont get Nextel again until they have roam capabilities incorporated into their phones. Maybe that will happen when Motorola is phased out of the picture and Qualcomm is making phones for Nextel/Sprint.

P.S. God I hope Verizon doesnt get a stab and Sprint. I dont want to see that faggot "can you hear me now" guy in a Sprint commercial. Ever! I just heard on the news that Verizon has pushed away from the table due to some legality issued that have arisen.
