Hey I'm new to owning a Chevy Truck and i love it, but my check engine light has just come on and i was wondering if there was a quick way to check the codes. I know in my previous jeep it was turn the key on and off 4 times and it would flash a code. Let me know if theres a way to do this, or should i just go to Advanced autoparts to get this checked. Thanks

Go to the auto parts store and have it checked with a scan tool. Let us know what code it is. A scan tool is the only way to retrieve codes from 96 and newer GM trucks
