Well, my sis-in-law suggested we go to this concert while she and my brother were in for the holiday. Went to the show at the Pepsi Arena in Albany, NY. WHAT A SHOW. If you get the opportunity to go, take it. The place sold out (just under 11,000 seats in concert config). The band donated $1 from each ticket to a local Make a Wish charity.

 

The concert was high-energy, loud, but VERY good. The first half of the show was a Christmas story, with songs mixed in. The second half was all music, including an INCREDIBLE drum solo (so good I thought the drummer had drumsticks in his feet also), a couple INCREDIBLE guitar solos, and some covers, including a cover of part of Stairway to Heaven (complete with the double-guitar).

 

We were in the upper level, a couple rows up. Near the end, the 2 guitarists went into the stands, one of them came out of the tunnel just to the left of where we were, VERY cool, almost surreal. It was a good time, I'd go again next year.

I got two of their CD's. I like the way they mix in their style of music with all the Christmas music. Sounds great.

Yeah, I caught them last year at th Knick, errr Pepsi. It'll always be the Knick for me. It was an awesome show, and I got all their CDs now. Good stuff just to rock out to sometimes.

I saw TSO a couple weeks ago for the first time and it was an awesome show. I have all there Christmas CD's and there one none Christmas CD, all are great to listen to! Christmas music with a twist...

If you like TSO, you may want to try Savatage. It is the same guys. The song that made "TSO" so popular is on the "Dead Winter Dead" CD by Savatage "Christmas Eve (Sarajevo 12/24)" . They have been around for over 20 years and have some excellent tunes.

I have a few of theirs as well, also some good stuff. Didn't realize they were the same guys, looked in one of the CD jackets and matched at least 3 to the TSO group we saw.

They had a concert about an hour from where I live a month or two ago. A lot of teachers and students from my school went to the concert, and they all loved it
