Ziano users .. to hand wash or not at all

I applied Ziano wax to my truck a few months back and I have been hand washing it every couple weeks.  I have no problem doing this but now thats its freezing its starting to be a problem.  Do you guys think that if I use an automatic care wash (brushless of course) that it will immediately strip off all my Ziano?  I really like having a clean truck but its so dang cold out the water freezes.  So considering the paint ,is it better not to wash the truck and have it dirty (no salt) for months or wash it every couple of weeks with an automatic car wash?  I want to protect my paint as much as I can.

Yes I am abscessed with my rig  :)

Thank You

I've found Zaino to hold up for several washings, so keep the salt off.  I wash my truck everytime it looks like we'll have a few clear days.

I use the wand type (DIY), or touchless automatic.  Never use brushes, or soft-touch.

As a fellow obsessor, I will add my 2 cents here. If it isn't salty, it's not going to do as much damage by just light dirt sitting there. There is no chemical reaction as salt causes, but the only concern is the dirt which tends to retain the moisture. Moisture obviously is a contributing factor to rust. If the air is very dry or the temperature is below freezing, its not as much of a concern because the moisture is either not there, or frozen.

A lot of waxes claim to hold up to hundreds of car washes, and being Zaino is superior to those, I would think it will hold up just fine to a few automatic washes now and again. I personally would only do it if it needs it. That will cut down on the amount of washes, since those (even brushless) can be a lot more harsh than a handwash, so try to minimize them and it should be fine. On a warmer day, try to get it clean and maybe throw a coat of wax on and it to maintain the protection.

I put Zaino on the wifes 2000 Olds and this is it's second winter and what I have done is just use the Do it yourself car washes but just use the soap and then rinse don't use the wax. Car looked great last spring and the Zaino was still beading up water like mad.

Now I have a 2002 truck and also use Zaino on it and plan to wash it the same way in the winter.  I have to have a durty car or truck so I have to wash every week or so.

Good Luck.

If I remember right, Sal Zaino said to use the wand variety car wash with no wax or other crap they try to sell you or get you to dial in.  Even the touchless washes try to wow you by covering the truck with some cheap wax/protectant.  Then when spring comes you have to start the Zaino all over again.... which is somewhat fun actually after a cold new york winter!
