thanks for the info bud!

Every company wants to claim their diesel additive is the best. I'm not going to tear down guys like Stanadyne or Lucas, but Bell Performance has been making diesel fuel additives since the 1950s. Their product Dee-Zol products a great spectrum of results, whether you want improve mileage and power or a cleaner engine.

Stanadyne, Lucas, Bell and a few others are on the market. I don't know much about them. I do know that Stanadyne is a very popular additive to the diesel world and alot of Cummins owners use it.

There is also AMSOIL's Diesel Concentrate that does well also.

And what bennefits have those of you who use Stanadyne or other Diesel additives seen? I'm curious as to notice what you actually see and feel difference wise, not what the product claims to do.

Thanks

Not a good comparison but I deal with some local truck drivers that run regular routes up the east coast. They keep pretty tight fuel logs. One tried the Diesel Concentrate and Cetane Boost for his regular run up to NJ and back. When he got back he calculated up his mileage and it went from 6.2 mpg to 6.9mpg. Might not seem like much to us but for them any little bit of mileage they can get helps. Yes this is just a regular use trial, no scientific lab data otherwise. He does fuel from the same station and same pumps every time he refuels. Might work for some and might not work for others. Just like some see a difference using a higher octane in their trucks and some don't. It all depends on what will work for you. I guess stick to the reputable brands and try them. If they improve mileage or performance then great, if not then you know not to use it again.

Good points there. A few trusted Mechanic friends seem to speak highly of stanadyne yet I can't really get any type of response as to what it is good for other than additional lubrication? I just like to do my research first before I go blindly buy a product just because everyone else is and says it's good. Kind of that if everyone jumps off a cliff so must I, mentality ya know? I'll have to look into the Amsoil product as well.

Cheers,

Ryan
