cheap air intake?

Was looking for a cheap air intake tube. I am just looking to replace the tube that runs from the throttle body to the air box. any suggestions?

Actually, I think that is a very good idea. Unfortunately, most of these are part of a complete and expen$$$ive kit. What I would like is the tube, wrapped in insulation, placed inside another tube.

 

The GM airbox really isn't a bad design, sucking in cool air from the fenderwell area. But, that intake tube with its saw/fold design, and with it getting blasted by the air from the radiator....

What is that weird looking piece that comes across from the air intake tube to the other side of the engine compartment? Looks like a wing. It does not terminate into anything else. Is it just to keep peoples fingers away from the belt? ( On the 05 5.3)

I believe it is there to reduce noise.
